Trafalgar Corex is a lightweight, high performance fire rated board. It has a glass-reinforced gypsum based material, which is environmentally friendly and meets all requirements for asbestos and volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) with sustainability certification.
Trafalgar Corex boards are able to withstand high temperatures while remaining stable and crack free, providing an ideal product for fire protection. Trafalgar Corex is approved to the current AS1530.4 – 2014 and AS4072.1 as a fire rated solid partition wall and vertical bulkheads. Trafalgar Corex is also ideal for steel protection and is AS4100 fully compliant and fire tested thermal insulation barrier.

Corex Board – 2000mm x 1200mm x 15mm – 32 boards per pallet
Corex Board – 2000mm x 1200mm x 20mm – 24 boards per pallet
Corex Board – 2000mm x 1200mm x 25mm – 18 boards per pallet
Structural steel members often require fire protection to prevent collapse in the event of a fire. Under high heat, the material properties of the steel change, making collapse likely. To avoid this the members can be clad in Trafalgar Corex to provide an AS4100 fully compliant and fire tested thermal insulation barrier.

Vertical Bulkheads
Trafalgar Corex is a thin, lightweight, high-performance fire rated board that is suited to various applications. Trafalgar Corex is stable and crack free under high temperatures making it ideal for constructing vertical fire rated bulkheads. Bulkheads are particularly useful to encase services within a fire rated compartment in situations where fire protection is required.
Trafalgar Corex is approved to the current AS1530.4 – 2014 and AS4072.1 for vertical bulkheads up to 4 meters high and 1, 2 or 3 sided bulkhead configurations.
Just like any service penetration through different fire barriers, it is also common to see steel beams and purlins penetrating through fire-rated barriers. These steel beams and purlin penetrations must also be treated to ensure compliance under the NCC.
To address any heat transfer through the penetration during a fire (insulation performance) the steel can be encased with Trafalgar Corex board.
